Blog Update #3

I’ll keep this short and sweet since I know everyone is getting tired of hearing about Coronavirus all of the time. Make sure to follow your local health authorities for what actions to take to keep yourself and everyone else safe. Remember that you may feel fine but by keeping yourself healthy, it will allow others to do the same. I have a few friends who have children with compromised immune systems and they are already self-isolating in order to limit their chances of carrying the virus into their homes.

It’s better to play it safe than sorry right now and I would rather be seen as over-reacting and staying safe rather than an issue arising and a loved one or a neighbour getting infected. I know that this is a very trying time for a lot of people, and it is easy to get anxious about what’s happening. It’s ok to be anxious, it’s ok to be worried. But make sure that you take proper care of yourself and your family and we must all try our best to keep a level head. This is a much advice for me as it is for others.

Also remember to be compassionate and empathetic right now. A lot of people have lost their jobs and/or are going through difficult financial situations. If things get heated with someone, remember it might be because of financial stress and/or anxiety. We have to do our best to help each other out. If you are in an area with a lot of infection cases, consider self-isolation if possible. And again, above all listen to the authorities. Call your friends and check up on them. Call your extended family. You never know how helpful reaching out just to talk might be for someone.

Please, please don’t hoard stuff. You may deny someone who is out of basic supplies the very things they need to survive.

Here is some useful info from Vox on how to do something about Coronavirus:

Be careful of disinformation about the virus. Don’t be RACIST!

John Oliver did an excellent video on the Coronavirus so I will link that below.

As far as my situation, we are doing just fine and we are limiting going out as much as possible even though there are very few cases in my area. I have several new post ideas lined up so look forward to that in the coming days. Feel free to shoot me a DM if you want to talk boots, or footy, or whatever.

Wash your hands and take care of yourselves.

  1. Stay safe and healthy! These times remind that there are more important things than football (or even football shoes ;)). Although I have to admit that having football on would ease the increased sitting on the couch.
